DEFINITIONUnder the general direction of the Maintenance and Electronic Communications Supervisor, performs a variety of tasks, electronic communications and system control systems requiring basic electronic theory and concepts, plus the application of principles and practices of related areas to the SCADA system including several aspects such as installation, troubleshooting and maintenance. Effective performance achieved through application of acceptable internal and professional electronic and system control practices and economics to assure productive use of technology and resources; service reliability; adherence to budgets, schedules and project scope; proper system/equipment operation; and equipment availability.  Position is subject to being "on call" and is an Emergency Essential position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive): Assists in troubleshooting existing systems and developing the design of corrective action required. Maintains records and submits to Water and Wastewater Manager on a regular basis. Performs SCADA and electrical repairs as needed. Cleans and maintains buildings and related equipment related to area of responsibility. Operates various hand and power tools and equipment to service or maintain City of Deltona facilities. Performs all aspects of the installation and maintenance plant-related conduits, wires, relays, pull boxes, switch boards and switches required in making additions, extensions or alterations in electrical systems. Performs repairs, routine and preventative maintenance at various City facilities and on equipment. Inspects, diagnoses and performs major and minor repair work on motors, pumps, generators, filters, automatic sprinkler systems, and other plant equipment. Maintains records and logs of work performed.  Uses computers for logging work completed, record keeping, and equipment data retrieval using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS). Assists in all general maintenance activities at various facilities and sites as required. Responds to emergency work requirements 24 hours per day seven days a week. Works with high voltage equipment and machinery. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and diagrams. Works in confined and high places following all OSHA safety rules and regulations; Locates and adjusts defects in electrical and mechanical systems and equipment such as variable speed drive repair, electrical calculations, troubleshoots electrical control circuits, electronics, interior & exterior electrical systems, new and alterations to existing electrical systems and controls, telemetry systems and related radio systems. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of technology through professional reading and seminar conference attendance within budgetary confines. Performs other duties or special projects as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED required; Minimum of two (2) years of related electrical experience supplemented by two (2) years related experience in instrumentation and control systems as related to SCADA systems utilized in wastewater and water facilities.  Five (5) years experience and/or Journeymen's electrical license preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:  Valid Florida Driver's License.  Journeyman's license is preferred.
