DEFINITION: The purpose of this job/class within the organization is to provide escalation service and support for PC hardware and software, telecommunications, audio/visual systems and components, peripherals and related systems and equipment. This job/class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Not all inclusive): Installs, maintains, and repairs personal computer (PC) and laptop hardware, software, peripherals, telecommunications and telephone equipment, data and voice cabling for City employees. Assists in or coordinates all after hour support by helpdesk personnel as applicable; tracks and updates help desk tickets. Provides user training and support for remote access to the City's network as approved by management. Sets up IT equipment for training, conference rooms, and special meetings as requested. Provides support for all remote sites, including but not limited to backup tape changes, system installation, and troubleshooting. Monitors and accounts for all IT hardware and software; maintains and tracks inventory. Shares team responsibility for security of systems, servers and infrastructure including firewalls, routers, VPNs, switches, incident response and forensic investigations. Assists and coordinates the activities of helpdesk staff in their support of the city services; coordinates the distribution of helpdesk tickets through prioritization and escalation and ensures the timely completion of all helpdesk activities; provides measurement and accountability of all helpdesk tasks; designs and maintains regular helpdesk hours and ensure availability and continuity of service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Requires an Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration or closely related field, supplemented by two-years of experience in an IT Support role supporting the latest Windows server and desktop operating systems. Municipal experience preferred.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Requires a driver's license valid in the State of Florida. Requires valid A-Plus+ certification awarded in 2012 or later. Comp TIA+, Microsoft, CJIS, Cisco networking, security certifications and other relevant certifications preferred.
